What this service is
Opening the car, and nothing else
We only provide lockout assistance and vehicle opening. We do not cut, replace, duplicate or program car keys.
So, to be clear about what this business does not do with vehicles:
- No car keys: none cut, supplied, replaced or programmed.
- No transponder keys and no remote controls.
- No repairs to ignition barrels or ignition switches.
- No keys for motorbikes or vans.
If the key is lost rather than locked in, contact the main dealer for your make or a specialist auto-key business. If your house keys are inside the car too, we can open the car first and then get your front door open.
Where it happens
A locked car in the Elda valley
In town it is usually a supermarket car park, a street outside home or work, or near the Elda-Petrer station, which has served both towns since 1858. In the first days of June, when Moros y Cristianos closes streets in the centre for five days, a car parked inside the closed area may only be reachable on foot, so tell us exactly where it is.
Out of town, it is a lane between vineyards towards Monóvar or Pinoso, the gate of a finca, or a track up into the hills of Petrer. Give a WhatsApp location pin: in the campo a pin is worth more than any address. Car lockouts: what people want to know
There is a child or a dog in the locked car.
Ring 112 now, before anyone else. Elda’s summer afternoons reach around 30 °C, and a closed car becomes dangerous far faster than any locksmith can arrive. The emergency services will break a window if they need to.
It is a hire car. Who do I ring first?
Check the rental agreement for the company’s roadside number, because some agreements require you to use it. If they tell you to arrange it yourself, we can open the car; keep the agreement to hand, as it is the proof that you are the hirer.
I have lost the only key. Can you make me another?
No. We do not cut, supply or program car keys of any kind. If the key is lost rather than locked inside, the main dealer for your make or a specialist auto-key business is who to contact. Opening the door, so you can get your things out, is something we can still do.
What do you need to see before opening it?
Something that links you to the car: the vehicle registration papers, the insurance documents, or a rental agreement, alongside your ID. If they are inside, the car is opened and you show them before we leave.
